We have partnered with a stellar group of award-winning, #1 song-writing, history-making songwriters and recording artists who have generously donated these lots directly to this auction, knowing what a wonderful cause it is. Our exclusive collection includes hits spanning from 1961 to 2019, covering every major music genre including pop, rock, country, blues/jazz, Americana, and gospel. Each song lyric was personally contributed by the original songwriter or artist themselves. Most of these songs are Grammy winners and/or #1 hits that you have heard for years or are hearing now in 2020!
Our first entry is a set of lyrics for “The Wichita Lineman” that has the distinct historic honor of being inducted into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress for the Class of 2019. Our last and most unique entry is a magnificent piece donated by Chris Stapleton, a celebrated Grammy-winning artist who wrote his Grammy-winning song lyrics to “Broken Halos” on his personally-owned acoustic guitar. We have two artists who donated medleys of multiple songs on beautifully detailed paper while others have sent in lyrics with colorful penmanship and artwork. Others still have simply written their authentic words on old-school lined notebook paper. Every music lover and collector will find something they must have in this rare offering.
The proceeds from this auction will benefit Music Health Alliance’s Covid-19 Relief Plan which was created to provide direct support for immediate needs of music industry professionals and their families during this public health crisis where most have become unemployed. These proceeds will help provide relief grants, health solutions, and other immediate needs to these struggling families.
In response to the pandemic, Music Health Alliance’s COVID-19 Relief Plan was created to provide direct support for the immediate needs of music industry professionals and their families during this public health crisis through relief grants, simplified solutions, and a comprehensive database of resources. Entirely funded through grants and individual and corporate donations, financial support from the music community is critical to continue Music Health Alliance’s (MHA) advocacy and free services. Based in Nashville, MHA has provided free healthcare advocacy and support to more than 11,000 music industry members and has saved the music community more than $50,000,000 nationwide by providing advocacy and access to lifesaving transplants, medicine, mental health resources, and end of life care, among many other necessary services. For every $1 donation, MHA is able to provide $30 in life-saving healthcare resources. MHA fights so those in our industry never have to feel alone in a health crisis and we remove obstacles so patients can receive lifesaving care. Its services are free to any person who has worked in the music industry for three or more years or who has credited contributions to four commercially-released recordings or videos. Spouses, partners, and children of qualifying individuals may also receive access to the non-profit’s services from birth to end of life.
